Job Overview

This position leads and manages the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for India operation, with close working with Sales & Marketing, Product Management, Logistics, Purchasing, Customer Service, Operations and key suppliers. The purpose is to develop a consensus demand Plan, manufacturing plan and inventory deployment plan, on regular cycles (usually monthly), in which supply and demand are in balance to achieve targeted customer service levels, inventory investment and Business Unit sales plans.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead S&OP business meetings to arrive at consensus business plan by skillfully managing different points of view from various stakeholders, resolving conflict and arriving at action plans.
  • Should be an expert in demand management with deep understanding of statistical forecasting tools, seasonality index & co-efficient of variations, shall be able to modify the model to suit business need
  • Act as conduit between commercial unit and supply chain planning to ensure that analysis techniques, reporting and utilization of planning tools most effectively support business needs
  • Lead & Manage Supply chain projects & initiatives on Process Improvement
  • Provide an overview and lead root cause analysis/action item discussion of key performance indicators such as Line Item Fill Rate, Forecast Accuracy, Demand Coverage, Excess Inventory and Target Inventory
  • Interface as needed with commercial unit and supply chain leadership to provide insights and business outlook
  • Establish schedule and agenda for regular (i.e., monthly) Pre S&OP & S&OP meetings, ensuring active participation by key stakeholders
  • In the event of Low Probability / High Impact incidents the S&OP Manager will organize special emergency meetings with the normal team and senior management on an as needed basis to present Supply Chain Planning recommendations for continuing business operations and the controlled distribution of inventory to customers. While the frequency is very low, the impact of sound management decisions is extremely important
Minimum Education and Related Work Experience
  • Master's degree in business, supply chain management, Operations Management
  • Supply Chain Certifications APICS CSCP/CPIM will be desire
  • Requires a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in Supply Chain or Planning field, and relevant experience in managing S&OP process, Demand Management & Inventory Management
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
  • Specialist knowledge of procurement concepts, supply chain processes, activities, and trends
  • Advanced analytical interpretation and problem solving skills
  • Unimpeachable ethics
  • Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent mastery of Excel, Word, and other MS Office applications
  • ERP/MRP experience, SAP is must
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts
  • Solid decision making skills

Salary: INR 8,00,000 - 13,00,000 PA.
